Once your church has embraced her role in the Great Commission, the work has only just begun. In their book Send to Survive, Brooks Buser and Chad Vegas dive into the work of discipleship, preaching, and teaching each church needs to do. But there’s a host of critically important organizational tasks that have yet to be done behind the scenes. The documents here are meant to help pastors, elders, and missions committees along with this process. These are free to use, share, and adapt to your own congregational or denominational use. Along the way, it may be helpful to consult the Missionary Glossary for clarity on missiological terms.
The purpose of these missions policies is to explain a scaffolding, process, and structure for global missions guided by a set of definitions and a committee organizational structure. This structure includes processes for raising-up, mobilizing, training, and sending workers. The desire is to see a culture of global missions engagement that is sacrificial in both the role of going and sending.
Throughout the appendix, the importance of missionary training and education is emphasized. Radius International offers a rigorous missionary training program designed for ministry among Unreached Language Groups. Additionally, Radius is affiliated with several colleges and seminaries that apply credits toward Radius training.
