What are some cautions you would give to leaders who are raising up missionaries?

Two that come easily to mind. I think the educational requirements are moving one direction. I think we need to keep in mind that these guys that graduate from the Radius program, they're works in progress. They're going to be a different man, a different woman five years from now, six, seven years from now. When they finally proclaim the gospel, they will have years to study and grow deeper in the Scriptures. I'm concerned that we don't elevate the expectation level too high in that way.

Then I'm concerned that we don't cater and begin pandering to the emotions of our students that are coming in. We do them no good to coddle them. We must love them wisely, but to coddle them and to make them the determining factor as to what we share and how we share it, I think that would be wrong.
