What are ways you can establish a successful missions team in your church?

First off, yeah—the things that we did in our church in San Diego to help us become even a better sending church. And it was a good sending church before I came on as missions pastor. I don't want to take all the credit.

But we established some guidelines. Okay, these are the type of people that we're going to support. Instead of just, you know, "I've got a friend," "I've got an uncle," "I've got a nephew"—we had a very strict set of criteria for the people that we're going to support.

We also established: there's a lot of good things flying under the banner of missions, but we can't do it all. We've got one thing on our mind here at Claremont Emanuel Baptist, and that is seeing the Great Commission accomplished. And that means, in part, going to every tongue, tribe, and nation.

So, we're very focused. We're not against other endeavors, but we're very focused with our missions dollars.
