What Kind of Sending Organization Should We Be Looking to Partner With?

What kind of sending organization should we be looking to partner with? 

I think the first thing we look for in what we would call a sending agency or a missions agency is: do they understand the gospel properly as an organization? Do they understand the church properly as an organization? Do they understand that their role is to come alongside and support or help the church—that the church is the one really sending the missionaries, and they are there to help facilitate parts of that job that the church just is not able to do?

For example, as a pastor, I don't really understand how to check language fluency or check a translation. I need people in an organization to know how to do that to help our own missionaries as they go out to the field. So, I think it's important that we find organizations that are really able to fill the gaps where the church isn't.

So, do they understand the task, and do they have the skills that your church is lacking to help you get that done?
