How does syncretism find its way into Roman Catholic missiology?

Catholic missiology is not governed by a commitment to the biblical gospel, but by syncretizing, by mixing, by absorbing indigenous cultures in a way that comes up with a mixed bag, and clothing this into a kind of Christian language. But at the very heart of what Catholic missiology is about, there is the attempt at baptizing different cultures with a surface of Christianity while leaving intact the pagan heart of different cultures.

And so that has been the strategy of Catholic missions. And if we encounter Catholic missionaries, while being friendly with them, we should be aware that their business is not to preach the gospel to see conversions to Christ, but their business is to try to adapt their Catholic identity in order to make it appealing to different cultures—absorbing elements and weaving cultures into their Catholic identity, making those cultures more Catholic, more embracing, but not gospel-centered.
