What is the 10/40 Window?

What is the 10/40 window?

So, the 10/40 Window was coined as a way to—I believe it's the latitude and the longitude of an area on the map, the 10 and the 40 and how they intersect each other. That area within there had the most concentrated groups around the world with the least gospel access. And so it started off with that as this is an area we should concentrate most of our missionary efforts on.

The men who actually put it into place, though, would probably be aghast at the way it's being used today, just because it was never meant to be "everything should be focused on this." It was just a quick, shorthand way to denote an area of great need.

It still is very needy. But judging where the gospel should go strictly off of geography has some downsides to it.
