Which missionaries have had an impact on your life?

There's a couple from Switzerland that came almost 50 years ago knocking to our doors, the door of our family, and introducing the gospel to our family. And they were exemplary in what they did then. They could hardly speak Italian, but they had the courage to knock doors of unknown families to introduce the gospel. And their courage has always been an example for me. Even with their little language skills at the moment, God used them to bring the gospel to my family. And out of that act of courage, evangelical courage, my parents came to faith, and I eventually became a Christian. A church was planted, and the work of the gospel bore fruit.

Another story of an exemplary missionary is my co-elder, co-pastor in Rome. He's a long-term missionary, having dedicated his life to the gospel and the cause of the gospel in my country, been willing to be part of a small church and serving with a servant heart for the long haul. And I admire the courage and the commitment that has been characterizing his life.

So courage and long-term commitment— these are the two outstanding features that speak of a missionary heart, and of people who have exercised an important influence on my life.
