What are the qualifications for a young person going into missions?

What are the qualifications for a 22, 23, 24-year-old guy wanting to head into missions? I want to see him character-wise on track to be elder material. He's growing in a commensurate way with his age. His love for the Lord, his knowledge of the Word is growing.

I praise God that the organization I went out with allowed me to go out as a 23-year-old guy moving toward maturity. I think we in the missions world need to have eyes of faith as we look at these people and where could they be if they continue to make good decisions. They're not going to be at 29, 30-year-old maturity when they get done with our training program— very few. So that's a concern, that we don't seek perfection.
