What Was it Like to See Your Kids and Their Families Go Into Missions?

What was it like to see your kids and their families go into missions?

Probably the hardest thing that we've gone through is the last time that our son Brandon—who was heading back to Papua New Guinea for his third term on the field—he had five of our grandkids with him. And driving in the van from San Diego up to LAX, and the van's just filled with the laughter and just the fun of being with those five incredible grandkids.

And to drop them off at the airport, and Beth and I drive quietly back to San Diego—that's... we've gone through a lot, but that's head and shoulders the hardest. Keeps us focused on eternity.

If eternity is not real, what a cruel joke this is. But it is real, and it will be worth it.
